After Mrunal Thakur’s recent apology for her past remarks, Kareena Kapoor Khan has now found herself in the hot seat over her own old interviews. A viral Reddit thread has resurfaced Kareena’s blunt and often controversial statements about other actors, sparking fresh outrage online.
The thread features snippets from Kareena’s earlier interviews, where she didn’t hold back on her opinions. After losing Devdas to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she famously called Sanjay Leela Bhansali a “confused director” with “no morals and principles.” She also once claimed that Sridevi “never had a historical hit.”
Talking about Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000) — which was supposed to be her debut before she quit — Kareena said director Rakesh Roshan gave all the attention to Hrithik Roshan, while Ameesha Patel had “pimples and under-eye bags” in some scenes. She also called Bipasha Basu kaali billi (black cat). When questioned about it on Aap Ki Adalat, Kareena laughed it off, saying she’d call herself gori billi (white cat).
Her unfiltered opinions didn’t stop there. Kareena once called Salman Khan a “bad actor” and even declared, “being fat is not sexy.”
Netizens are now tearing into her for these remarks. One user wrote, “Pooh in real life!” Another commented, “Her fans call her mean behavior ‘sassy’ like it’s some badge of honor.” A third added, “She was unfiltered for sure — film magazine readers probably loved it, but wow, she was haughty.”
Others pointed out that Kareena was lucky these comments came before today’s social media culture. “If she said this now, she’d be cancelled instantly,” one user joked.
Over the years, however, Kareena seems to have toned down her public statements. These days, she prefers diplomacy. When asked about her alleged feud with Ameesha Patel on Koffee With Karan after the success of Gadar 2, Kareena dismissed it, saying, “There’s no history. The only history is the one Gadar 2 made at the box office.”
On the work front, Kareena was last seen in Singham Again.
