Delhi woke up to yet another bomb scare on Monday morning after three schools in Dwarka received threat emails, triggering panic and massive security checks.
According to officials, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and ShreeRam World School (Sector 10, Dwarka) were among those targeted. Police, bomb disposal squads, and fire officials rushed to the campuses immediately and began intensive searches.
“All students and staff have been safely evacuated as a precaution. Search operations are in progress,” a Delhi Police officer confirmed.
Panic Among Parents, Students Sent Home
The fresh threats come at a time when Delhi has been facing a series of such incidents in recent months. Just last month, on July 18, over 50 schools in the capital received bomb threat emails in one single morning. Prominent names like St Xavier’s (Civil Lines), Richmond Global School (Paschim Vihar), Abhinav Public School (Rohini), and The Sovereign School (Rohini) had also been forced to evacuate.
In another incident earlier in July, St Stephen’s College and St Thomas School in Dwarka were also targeted, just a day after three other institutions had reported similar threats.
Shockingly, police later discovered that one of those emails had been sent by a 12-year-old boy from south Delhi as a prank. He was traced, questioned, and then counselled before being sent home.

Security Concerns on the Rise
Even though all past threats have turned out to be hoaxes, the repeated scares have left parents and teachers anxious. Opposition leaders, too, have hit out at the government. Last month, former Delhi CM and AAP leader Atishi slammed the BJP-led administration, saying:
“Think of the trauma children, parents, and teachers are going through. BJP controls all four engines of governance in Delhi, yet it has failed to ensure safety for our kids. Shocking!”
What Happens Next
Officials say evacuation will continue to be the first response whenever such threats are received, until every case is verified. Meanwhile, police are investigating the source of the latest email sent to DPS Dwarka.
