Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during his “Voter Adhikaar Yatra” in Gaya, launched a fierce attack on the Election Commission (EC). He accused the poll body of manipulating votes and protecting the BJP, while slamming its demand for an affidavit from him over his “vote chori” (vote theft) allegations.
Rahul said, “The Election Commission is accountable. Their theft has been exposed, yet they are asking me for an affidavit. I want to tell the EC—the entire country will demand an affidavit from you. We will uncover your theft in every state, every Lok Sabha seat, every Assembly seat, and show it to the nation.”
He also warned election officials, saying that if an INDIA bloc government comes to power, strict action will be taken against the commissioners for “vote theft.”
Bihar’s SIR Exercise Called ‘New Form of Vote Theft’
Targeting the ongoing SIR (Special Investigation & Revision) exercise in Bihar, Rahul alleged, “Just like PM Modi talks about special packages, the EC has brought a special package for Bihar called SIR—which is nothing but a new form of vote theft.”
He recalled alleged irregularities in previous state elections, especially in Maharashtra and Haryana. According to him, ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, 1 crore new voters were mysteriously added within just four months, which changed the results.
“We started our own inquiry. In Bengaluru Central (Karnataka), we found over 1 lakh fake voters,” he added.
‘EC Is Colluding With BJP’
Rahul reminded the crowd of his earlier press conference, where he openly accused the Election Commission of working hand-in-hand with the BJP.
“I clearly said that votes are being stolen in five different ways. Instead of checking, the EC asked me for an affidavit. The responsibility is theirs, not mine. I repeat—the whole country will demand an affidavit from them.”
He ended by saying that the people of Bihar will not allow such “vote theft,” and that his party will continue to expose electoral manipulation across the country.
