Voter Adhikar Yatra Live Updates: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched his ambitious 16-day, 1,300-km “Voter Adhikar Yatra” from Sasaram, Bihar. The Opposition-led INDIA bloc is projecting the march as a fight to safeguard the principle of “one person, one vote” ahead of the crucial Bihar Assembly elections later this year.

The yatra, which will wrap up with a massive rally in Patna on September 1, will see participation from RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and other Mahagathbandhan leaders. Over the next two weeks, it will pass through 20 districts, including Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnea, Darbhanga, and West Champaran.

Much like his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra earlier this year before the Lok Sabha polls, this campaign will combine foot marches with road travel.

Meanwhile, political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor claimed the initiative has shaken the ruling establishment. “Our padayatra has forced these leaders onto the streets,” he said, adding that the movement has given people a new political narrative in Bihar.
